For John & I this whole thing, which happened over the smallest thing but apparently was coming anyway because no one liked me from the beginning, has been over. We did ~nothing~ wrong but stand up for our beliefs to the way we should parent Delilah. No John didn't say anything & yes, he should have. But like Mary said- he could have if "he weren't afraid to". All of this bullshit over me contacting the person who gave Delilah icing & her not being grown up enough to address it with ME. And yes I did move the blog. Why? Because that blog is for DELILAH. For us to share the happiness in her life & the pictures that we took to share with our family & friends. Not for people to come on & attack us and the way we choose to raise our daughter. No I didn't want her to have icing- does that make it wrong for other people to give their children icing? Absolutely not. BUT this is OUR choice. OUR parenting choice & no one elses decision. NO ONE elses influence. Why when I can respect the parenting choices of others- even if I don't agree with them- the same can't be done for us?
I don't want Delilah kept from anyone- I'm not that kind of person. But you will not say things about my daughter, me or my husband and expect things to be ok. I was attacked for having the guts to stand up to my SIL & MIL. But apparently this has been a long time coming. All of my ILs haven't liked me from the beginning even though I never did one damn thing wrong. O wait, yes I did. I was different & I showed John, unbeknownst to me, that he could be himself. I never made him do anything- I only encouraged him when he wanted to come out of his shell.
I won't be that daughter-in-law who will keep her child from their paternal grandparents. But you won't see John, me or Delilah until you apologize for the wrongs you have bestowed upon us.
This is done- it's over. Do not comment. We don't want any calls from anyone else sticking their noses where they don't belong. The only people we expect anything from is Mary & Bill. If you want to apologize you know where we live.

Yay!! She crawled, she crawled!!
Today is an advancement in Delilah's development- an amazing milestone that I got to witness (but poor daddy didn't :-( I got video though!) and didn't miss out on even though I have to work. That's right folks- Delilah crawled for the first time today! John left for groceries (he seems to be able to spend less money than me LoL) & I was sitting on the floor playing with Delilah. I decided to take a video and while sitting there she crawled off to her sound stage. I couldn't believe she was crawling... AND that I got the very first on video!! I hope I'm lucky enough to get her walking on video like Auntie Ashley got for Shawn :-D
I haven't uploaded pics to the computer since at least Saturday & forgot about the pics and videos taken while my parents were visiting (and kindly bringing the new area rug they purchased for us with them). We got some great pics of my dad feeding Delilah & also of Delilah, John & I in the pool. One thing is for sure she doesn't overly like the pool. I think it's because of how cold the water is compared to what she's used to at bath time. I know she'll end up liking it later & I won't be able to get her out of the pool in a few years! Later that day Ash brought the boys over for more pool time fun.
Due to recent events I have decided that I am creating a new blog & it will be private. Please leave a comment with your e-mail address (I have it set to moderate comments & I won't post it) so I can e-mail you the site information.
Please enjoy some pictures & videos below :-D

The whole situation beginning with the blog below got ridiculously blown out of proportion. All because of our parenting choices. If you can't accept the way we choose to raise our daughter you can't be a part of her life. Saying to us that she is a miserable child is insulting. You haven't seen her here in her own environment- or at her maternal grandparents' or Aunt & Uncle's. She is the happiest, most perfect little girl. How dare anyone ever say to me or John that she is "weird" because we don't conform & force things upon her that she has no interest in.
You don't know John... you don't know me... and you certainly don't know Delilah. You all are losing out on knowing her- we're not losing out on anything. We will take from this & grow. We both know that we did nothing wrong on our part & no one is going to make us feel like we did.

Happy Happy Birthday... to Shawn!!
Today my best's friend first born is a big ol' 3 years young! It hasn't been that great of a birthday for him because the poor guy hasn't been feeling well the entire day. He didn't even wanna swim or play at the pool! This is a rarity for this kiddo 'cause he is a water wizard :-D Happy 3rd Birthday kiddo!!
Ahh yes... the pool... we met Ashley & Shawn today at the Mifflinburg pool. It didn't go over very well. We couldn't put Delilah in her floaty thing because she cried so I had to hold her the entire time (I don't mind because that means I get lots of snuggle time!). However we have a little problem with the pool- Delilah now does not like the bath tub. Last night John went to give Delilah a bath & she started crying. We thought maybe it was because I wasn't home to give her a bath with him but we discovered that this was not the case. Tonight when we went to give her a bath- since last night was a bust- I went to place her in the tub & she started crying. I picked her up & comforted her. Then tried to put her back in. That wasn't working. So we got her infant tub & put that in the tub filling it with water. That too was not working. I ended up having to get in with her & hold her under the shower head while John washed her. Poor baby. I'm not sure what to do because we can't not take her to the pool as she won't get used to it. But we also can't have bath time go this way either.
Pet peeves- you name them, I got them. Lots of them. A big one I have is when someone thinks it's ok to just give your child food without asking permission. I mean what are they thinking when they do this? You don't give anything to anyone's kid without asking permission. For us there are foods you just don't give at certain ages & stages, there's the possibility of food allergies if a food is given too early, there's personal preference as to what you want to feed your child. Another thing that really bothers me about this whole subject is if the food given would've been a first. There's nothing more special than any type of first a parent witnesses with their child. It creates memories & once that's gone you don't get that first back. Regardless of whether or not that child remembers it it was still a first for the parent & it was taken away. It is plain rude & inconsiderate to just assume you can give someone's child something without asking permission. I don't care how anyone else parents, what anyone else thinks is right for their kids, how anyone else does whatever they do when raising their child, or what they think of how we've decided to raise ours. I will raise ~my~ daughter how I think is best & by what I feel is right because I am her mother.

Happy First Birthday Monkey Man
Yesterday Landon officially turned 1 year old. 1 year ago yesterday Ashley was in surgery (unfortunately a c-section had to be done) having her baby boy brought in to the world. We are so fortunate to be a part of these boys' lives- I just cannot imagine not being, or having them be, a part of the family. I see Ashley as a parent... she and my own mother are my role models. I strive to be as good of a mother as Ashley is to her sons and as my mother was to me. Happy Birthday Landon! We love you so much! Aunt Lizzy, Uncle John, & Delilah :-*
Also yesterday Delilah enjoyed her first bathtime experience in the "grown-up" bath tub. I do believe we'll be giving Delilah her baths in there instead. She was getting too long for the rainforest bath tub anyway. Of course we took pics- so enjoy!!

Puffy Fun
Ok so I've been lacking on the blogging but I've had no motivation... *sigh* Although there are fun things to talk about!
Saturday John, Delilah & I headed off to T&D's with Ashley, Shawn & Landon. It was soo fun! We got to see monkeys, feed deer, feed an emu (which Ashley got pecked by when it was taking the food from her LoL), see lions, and tigers and bears! O my!! Prior to we went to Old Turnpike for lunch where Delilah tried her very first puffy!! Banana flavored- yum!! She also tried some orange, had some more lemon, and tried some baked bean juice & sweet corn. Now let me make it clear that we're not in the habit of giving Delilah table foods like that but hey, it was a day for adventure.
Sunday was Shawn & Landon's birthday party. It was super fun- we had great food, got to make banana splits & the best part of all was getting to share the day with the kiddos. I was so super excited to give Shawn & Landon their gifts... we got Shawn the Wonderpets flyboat, Wonderpets 3-D viewer reels, & playdough. We got Landon a fisher-price laugh n learn tool set thingy & a little tykes hammer toy that makes noise since he likes to bang on stuff :-D
Sunday afternoon/early evening John & I returned from Walmart and decided to sit out in the grass with Delilah. This was not a first for her but it might as well have been! I sat down on the ground with her & placed her feet in the grass. The lip came out & the tears started flowing. I could not put her down in it! We kinda think it's because of the pool experience- the grass was cold too which probably reminded her of the water.
Yesterday was another great first for Delilah- she fed herself a puffy with no help from Dad!! She did it again today- my big girl!!
Pictures!!

Spongebob... Boogerhead???
Ok so this isn't about Spongebob but in fact about our boogerhead. Yes, that's Delilah. Yesterday when she woke up from her nap John saw what he at first thought was goop. It actually turned out to be a boogie!! And daddy took pictures (which I ~am~ going to share).
Delilah also got a chance to feed herself yesterday... as you can imagine it didn't go overly well. Mommy got home from work for her lunch break to find quite the mess on Delilah's highchair tray that Daddy was in the process of cleaning up.
Delilah was making the most humerous faces yesterday at lunch. She looked like a toothless little old lady the way she was sucking her lips in. She also has another face that mimicks the lip but is actually in good fun & does ~not~ mean sadness is on the way.
Last night after her bath I was drying her hair (which she does ~not~ like!) & when I pull the towel away she had a mohawk! Of course I had John take a picture :-D
I swear Delilah just gets bigger & bigger, faster & faster... she's been trying to crawl & today made an advancement on the attempt. Literally. She was up on her knees and brought one knee forward. Usually at that point she ends up letting her legs flop out from under her but this time she brought the other knee forward. Along with crawling she was an immense urge to stand. She'll put both of her hands on my knees to try to get up & I'll take her hands & raise them up. This allows her to stand herself up.
Today I was sitting on the floor with her holding her up to her gumball machine. She takes ahold of the gumball machine & is standing at it all by herself. No help from mom (well except to hold the gumball machine in place so it doesn't slide out from her grasp). She lets go of the gumball machine & tries to take a step toward her sound stage!! Good thing I was there to catch her. A little later we were at her sound stage. She was sitting on my legs & she reaches up on both sides of the sound stage and pulled herself up to it!! Again, no help from mom. She is such a big girl.
Like Auntie Ashley said- it won't be long before she's running around chasing after the boys!!
Boogers!!

Look what I can do!

Memorial Day Weekend (Looonnngggg)
Well this actually starts Thursday... Thursday night we went to Auntie Ashley's to give her the other half of her gift. The half that would allow her to play the first half of her gift (Guitar Hero World Tour bundle & Guitar Hero Aerosmith). Ash was playing in the water at the sink with Delilah and since it was bath night & she was already at the sink, Ash suggested a bath. So Delilah had her first irish bath. It was interesting to bathe her in there but I think I'm just going to be sticking to the rainforest bath tub we have LoL Especially after Delilah bonked her head on the side of the sink- her lil noggin was ok though! Auntie Ashley was kind enough to take pics for me :-)
Also Thursday Delilah was doing the sippy cup herself! I'm so proud of her! Of course we have it rigged up so that some comes out regardless but she surely showed what a big girl she is by holding it herself.
Friday I took off to spend the day with John & Delilah. Ash said the night before she wasn't sure if Jon had off so I called her later (John didn't know I was taking off until the day of) & said that if Jon didn't have off we could all go to Applebee's together for lunch (instead of dinner like she & I were going to do.) I called Friday morning to see if Jon had off & ended up talking to Jon. I told him what I said to Ash about lunch if he hadn't had off & he said that we should go anyway. So John, Delilah & I met Jon, Ash & the kids at Applebee's for lunch. It was yum yummers!!
Saturday the Rawlings clan & the Williams clan all went to Reptile Land. It was so much fun! Shawn enjoyed all the snakes, lizards, etc. It was fun seeing him look at everything in his little boy wonderment. Landon chilled in the stroller & Princess Delilah insisted on being carried throughout. No stroller for her! In the one builidng where they have the snakes, lizards, etc. Delilah & I were looking in to this one exhibit with alligators. I had Delilah up to the glass and this one little shit got pissed & lunged at the glass at Delilah! I've never seen something like that. Good thing that glass is strong!!
Before Reptile Land we all went to Bonanza for lunch where Delilah sampled her first tiny bite of vanilla ice cream. She made the cutest face (of course no camera)- I'm not sure if it was the taste or the coldness of the ice cream but I can't wait to see that face again!
Yesterday we had a Memorial Day picnic at my mom & dad's. It's been a tradition for the now past 3 years to have Ash & the boys be apart of our family cookout. Along with Ash, John, me & the kids my grandma & my brother, his girlfriend and her daughter were also there. Shawn had a blast playing bubbles with Kayla. He also had a super fun time running through the hose as Uncle John sprayed him. Landon... not so much. Mommy doesn't think he's going to be much of a water baby. I'm apt to agree. He was however very well behaved sitting in the highchair usually deemed for Delilah.
Today Delilah tried apples & blueberries!!
Also today we had a poopsplosion... Delilah was sitting in her highchair & suddenly she was concentrated & grunting. We knew it was the poopy. I went to get her out to change her & then to take her outside while daddy went to pick up puppy poop. Prior to this she had been playing with her sippy cup dumping water everywhere. Anyway, I picked her up & saw she was wet. Thinking she soaked herself with the sippy cup. Yea.... not so much. She was wet from her poopy leaking out the front top of the diaper. She also had a mess in the back, as well as poopy on her leg AND on the highchair seat. Ugh!! She again, got an irish bath... and again affirmed why I would rather stick to the rainforest tub we have. She bopped her noggin :-(
I was so excited today... we were all supposed to go to the Middleburg pool with Ash, Jon & the boys. We got ready (Delilah was soooo adorable in her swimsuit!) and met Ash, Jon & the boys at Dollar General in Middleburg where we followed them from. We get to the Middleburg pool (after an almost wrong turn ;-) ) & discover they're not open. Off we head to the Selinsgrove pool (again with a wrong turn LoL Poor Jon!) to find that this is also closed. From there we decide to try the Norry pool & then if that was closed we were going to give up. I decided to call 411 so I could call & see if they were open rather than driving there to find they weren't. Yea- June 5th. I also tried calling the Sunbury pool... also closed. We decide to come back to our house so Shawn could at least run through the hose. On the way up the one ramp to head across the bridge I said to John I wish we would've bought that pool we wanted (a nice sized blow up pool that adults can fit in with the kids)... we could've stopped on the way back but thought of it after the fact. SO, Ash & I ended up heading back towards Selinsgrove to go to Walmart to get the pool. $55 later we were headed back to our house with the pool. John pumped it up & "filled" it with water (a few inches as it was getting late). Yea, Delilah and Landon so did not like it LoL Shawn loved it- as did Ash & I but Delilah & Landon wanted no part of it. I'm thinking it was because the water was too dang cold but what can ya do? LoL I'm hoping we get to all go to the pool together sometime soon.

I got it!! I got it!!
Yay!! Finally!! We got a.... ~FACE~!!! Last night we gave her some mangos out of the fridge. I didn't warm it in the microwave or anything so of course, it was cold. After that first spoonful there it was- the face. Not over a new veggie/fruit mind you- but just a cold fruit LoL
Yesterday John went for a walk & ended up at Auntie Ashley's to visit. Landon & Delilah got to play a bit and Ashley got some really cute pics she generously shared with me for blogging :-D The one pic is just too funny- Delilah's hair is standing up because Landon had just licked her head LMAO!
John has this thing about getting the perfect picture to photo shop a light saber in Delilah's hand. First we tried with her rattle that looks like a microphone. It didn't look right. Next John found our small, black flashlight & has been trying to get just the right pic for it.

It was bound to happen...
I knew it was only a matter of time before it happened... John has been testing the fates of goop since Delilah began gooping. While I showered before we did our bedtime routine, John was playing with Delilah in the bedroom. After finishing up in the shower, I walk in to find him laying on the bed with her held up in the air over his head. As I was dressing, he was making her "fly" a few more times before our little airplane had to come in for a landing. And that's when it happened... that's right- Goop! And not just on his shirt but right on the side of his lower face/neck area LMAO Serves him right ;-D That shirt was done for the night!
Since going back to work I haven't felt that my time with Delilah has been all that horribly shortened. I have in the morning before work, at lunch time, & then when I get home until she goes to bed (which we've kept her up a little later because of this) but tonight I really did. It made me feel sad and that's not a feeling I'm ready to deal with. I've been doing well with this whole going back to work thing. And while I don't want to get used to it as I feel I'd be betraying her in a way, I don't want to be upset about it either. My darling, two toothed little boo... how I love you so :-)

Marina- Yay!! & Mangos- Yum!!
Today was a busy day. First my mom & dad came down to help us take some stuff to the dump. Goodbye ruined things of cats past! After that John & I went to see the new Wolverine movie- I loved it!! That's no surprise ;-) Then off to Walmart (ugh!) for some supplies.
This afternoon Auntie Ashley & I went to the marina so Shawn could play & Landon and Delilah could swing. We got in a good 10 minutes before the rain began. After some playground fun we went over to Ross's for some yummy icecream. We had lots of fun!
After our trip to the marina, I returned home and that's when I decided that Delilah need to try a new fruit. Mangos!! She absolutely loved them :-D Of course this time she actually made a face... and of course, this time John missed the perfect shot >:-\ Enjoy some pics below.
