For John & I this whole thing, which happened over the smallest thing but apparently was coming anyway because no one liked me from the beginning, has been over. We did ~nothing~ wrong but stand up for our beliefs to the way we should parent Delilah. No John didn't say anything & yes, he should have. But like Mary said- he could have if "he weren't afraid to". All of this bullshit over me contacting the person who gave Delilah icing & her not being grown up enough to address it with ME. And yes I did move the blog. Why? Because that blog is for DELILAH. For us to share the happiness in her life & the pictures that we took to share with our family & friends. Not for people to come on & attack us and the way we choose to raise our daughter. No I didn't want her to have icing- does that make it wrong for other people to give their children icing? Absolutely not. BUT this is OUR choice. OUR parenting choice & no one elses decision. NO ONE elses influence. Why when I can respect the parenting choices of others- even if I don't agree with them- the same can't be done for us?
I don't want Delilah kept from anyone- I'm not that kind of person. But you will not say things about my daughter, me or my husband and expect things to be ok. I was attacked for having the guts to stand up to my SIL & MIL. But apparently this has been a long time coming. All of my ILs haven't liked me from the beginning even though I never did one damn thing wrong. O wait, yes I did. I was different & I showed John, unbeknownst to me, that he could be himself. I never made him do anything- I only encouraged him when he wanted to come out of his shell.
I won't be that daughter-in-law who will keep her child from their paternal grandparents. But you won't see John, me or Delilah until you apologize for the wrongs you have bestowed upon us.
This is done- it's over. Do not comment. We don't want any calls from anyone else sticking their noses where they don't belong. The only people we expect anything from is Mary & Bill. If you want to apologize you know where we live.

Yay!! She crawled, she crawled!!
Today is an advancement in Delilah's development- an amazing milestone that I got to witness (but poor daddy didn't :-( I got video though!) and didn't miss out on even though I have to work. That's right folks- Delilah crawled for the first time today! John left for groceries (he seems to be able to spend less money than me LoL) & I was sitting on the floor playing with Delilah. I decided to take a video and while sitting there she crawled off to her sound stage. I couldn't believe she was crawling... AND that I got the very first on video!! I hope I'm lucky enough to get her walking on video like Auntie Ashley got for Shawn :-D
I haven't uploaded pics to the computer since at least Saturday & forgot about the pics and videos taken while my parents were visiting (and kindly bringing the new area rug they purchased for us with them). We got some great pics of my dad feeding Delilah & also of Delilah, John & I in the pool. One thing is for sure she doesn't overly like the pool. I think it's because of how cold the water is compared to what she's used to at bath time. I know she'll end up liking it later & I won't be able to get her out of the pool in a few years! Later that day Ash brought the boys over for more pool time fun.
Due to recent events I have decided that I am creating a new blog & it will be private. Please leave a comment with your e-mail address (I have it set to moderate comments & I won't post it) so I can e-mail you the site information.
Please enjoy some pictures & videos below :-D

The whole situation beginning with the blog below got ridiculously blown out of proportion. All because of our parenting choices. If you can't accept the way we choose to raise our daughter you can't be a part of her life. Saying to us that she is a miserable child is insulting. You haven't seen her here in her own environment- or at her maternal grandparents' or Aunt & Uncle's. She is the happiest, most perfect little girl. How dare anyone ever say to me or John that she is "weird" because we don't conform & force things upon her that she has no interest in.
You don't know John... you don't know me... and you certainly don't know Delilah. You all are losing out on knowing her- we're not losing out on anything. We will take from this & grow. We both know that we did nothing wrong on our part & no one is going to make us feel like we did.

Happy Happy Birthday... to Shawn!!
Today my best's friend first born is a big ol' 3 years young! It hasn't been that great of a birthday for him because the poor guy hasn't been feeling well the entire day. He didn't even wanna swim or play at the pool! This is a rarity for this kiddo 'cause he is a water wizard :-D Happy 3rd Birthday kiddo!!
Ahh yes... the pool... we met Ashley & Shawn today at the Mifflinburg pool. It didn't go over very well. We couldn't put Delilah in her floaty thing because she cried so I had to hold her the entire time (I don't mind because that means I get lots of snuggle time!). However we have a little problem with the pool- Delilah now does not like the bath tub. Last night John went to give Delilah a bath & she started crying. We thought maybe it was because I wasn't home to give her a bath with him but we discovered that this was not the case. Tonight when we went to give her a bath- since last night was a bust- I went to place her in the tub & she started crying. I picked her up & comforted her. Then tried to put her back in. That wasn't working. So we got her infant tub & put that in the tub filling it with water. That too was not working. I ended up having to get in with her & hold her under the shower head while John washed her. Poor baby. I'm not sure what to do because we can't not take her to the pool as she won't get used to it. But we also can't have bath time go this way either.
Pet peeves- you name them, I got them. Lots of them. A big one I have is when someone thinks it's ok to just give your child food without asking permission. I mean what are they thinking when they do this? You don't give anything to anyone's kid without asking permission. For us there are foods you just don't give at certain ages & stages, there's the possibility of food allergies if a food is given too early, there's personal preference as to what you want to feed your child. Another thing that really bothers me about this whole subject is if the food given would've been a first. There's nothing more special than any type of first a parent witnesses with their child. It creates memories & once that's gone you don't get that first back. Regardless of whether or not that child remembers it it was still a first for the parent & it was taken away. It is plain rude & inconsiderate to just assume you can give someone's child something without asking permission. I don't care how anyone else parents, what anyone else thinks is right for their kids, how anyone else does whatever they do when raising their child, or what they think of how we've decided to raise ours. I will raise ~my~ daughter how I think is best & by what I feel is right because I am her mother.

Happy First Birthday Monkey Man
Yesterday Landon officially turned 1 year old. 1 year ago yesterday Ashley was in surgery (unfortunately a c-section had to be done) having her baby boy brought in to the world. We are so fortunate to be a part of these boys' lives- I just cannot imagine not being, or having them be, a part of the family. I see Ashley as a parent... she and my own mother are my role models. I strive to be as good of a mother as Ashley is to her sons and as my mother was to me. Happy Birthday Landon! We love you so much! Aunt Lizzy, Uncle John, & Delilah :-*
Also yesterday Delilah enjoyed her first bathtime experience in the "grown-up" bath tub. I do believe we'll be giving Delilah her baths in there instead. She was getting too long for the rainforest bath tub anyway. Of course we took pics- so enjoy!!

Puffy Fun
Ok so I've been lacking on the blogging but I've had no motivation... *sigh* Although there are fun things to talk about!
Saturday John, Delilah & I headed off to T&D's with Ashley, Shawn & Landon. It was soo fun! We got to see monkeys, feed deer, feed an emu (which Ashley got pecked by when it was taking the food from her LoL), see lions, and tigers and bears! O my!! Prior to we went to Old Turnpike for lunch where Delilah tried her very first puffy!! Banana flavored- yum!! She also tried some orange, had some more lemon, and tried some baked bean juice & sweet corn. Now let me make it clear that we're not in the habit of giving Delilah table foods like that but hey, it was a day for adventure.
Sunday was Shawn & Landon's birthday party. It was super fun- we had great food, got to make banana splits & the best part of all was getting to share the day with the kiddos. I was so super excited to give Shawn & Landon their gifts... we got Shawn the Wonderpets flyboat, Wonderpets 3-D viewer reels, & playdough. We got Landon a fisher-price laugh n learn tool set thingy & a little tykes hammer toy that makes noise since he likes to bang on stuff :-D
Sunday afternoon/early evening John & I returned from Walmart and decided to sit out in the grass with Delilah. This was not a first for her but it might as well have been! I sat down on the ground with her & placed her feet in the grass. The lip came out & the tears started flowing. I could not put her down in it! We kinda think it's because of the pool experience- the grass was cold too which probably reminded her of the water.
Yesterday was another great first for Delilah- she fed herself a puffy with no help from Dad!! She did it again today- my big girl!!
Pictures!!

Who does Delilah look like? Daddy!! Look at those faces!
