6 month pedi appointment

Today was Delilah's 6 month pediatrician appointment. Besides the crying & screaming it went pretty well ;-) The crying started as soon as I lay her down on the scale to be measured & weighed. It stopped when I picked her up but started again as the nurse took her temperature (you try having a thermometer shoved up your rump!) and also while the nurse measured her head. As long as I was holding her she was ok- but as soon as the pedi started her exam she was crying again. And don't get me started on the shots!! Poor baby :-( It was a tough day for her- no morning nap, pedi appointment + shots, 3 hour nap after I fed her when we got home, & grumpy the rest of the night.

Anyway, her stats are:

Weight- 16 lbs 4 oz
Height- 2'2"

Delilah's 6 month pics are finally ordered! I can't wait to get the pics :-D I went a little crazy ordering prints but I sure as heck got a lot more for my buck than I would've at S.ear.s!!

Tomorrow night Auntie Ashley & I are getting together to work on posters for the boys' birthday party. I can't believe Shawn is going to be 3 and Landon is going to be the big 1!! Where did the time go?! I am so excited to give the kids their presents. We got Shawn the Wonder Pets flyboat, 3 Wonder Pets viewmaster cartridges, & some art supplies. For Landon we got him this Fisher Price Laugh n Learn Tool "box". I still want to get him something else but I'm drawing a blank.

TGITDBF!! (Thank God it's the day before Friday hehe)

A bug up his butt

So John keeps noticing this red bird in the yard. He ~thinks~ it's a cardinal & he's determined to get a picture of it just so he can see if that's what it is. So the one night he sees it in the yard flying between my car & then over to the neighbor's fence. After it flew in to the tree he decided to go outside with the camera & get a picture of that red bird (yup, it was a cardinal).

Mother's Day... what a wonderful day to enjoy with my beautiful daughter & loving husband. Not only with the loves of my life but our families too. I got a collage frame from John & Delilah of pics with me & Delilah. The center pic is just of her. I also got a bag of chocolate :-D And of course, a lovely card from Delilah and one from John. From my mom I got a lovely card, a candle (yum!) and a double 5x7 picture frame. From my grandma a card & $$ and from my brother a card.

For my mom we got two cards (one from us & one from Delilah), a photo book from Delilah & I with pics of mom & Delilah and grandma quotes, a grammy bracelet & a pair of earrings... both of which I made.

For my grandma we got a card from Delilah, a photo book of Delilah with some pics of her & Delilah and grandma quotes, and a pair of earrings I made.

My bestest best friend/sister (she might as well be!) Ashley got me the bestest gifts ever. One is a poster print of 3 pics on the left side & 1 on the right side of Delilah and I from the 6 month photo shoot. Also, she made a mini-scrapbook of the boys & I that is just so special & precious. I also got a lovely (I'm liking that word today) card from her and one from the boys as well.

There is nothing better in this world than God's gift of children. I will cherish always the daughter I was blessed with. Every smile, every tear, every easy day, every hard day... every everyday.

Rawr!! Imma Dionsaur!!

The past few days Delilah has been growling... it's just the cutest thing. Like she's trying to be this feriocious monster. At first I actually thought she was growling because she was trying really ~hard~ to poo LMAO

Today Delilah tried peaches for the first time! She seemed to really enjoy them but of course, gave the same old food faces (obviously still adorable!). Afterwards we went for a walk where she got to wear her sunglasses & adorable hat.

Yesterday Auntie Ashley & the boys came over- their house was being shown & they needed to vacate so what better place for lots of fun than Uncle John's & Aunt Lizzy's? It's always such a joy when we get to see the boys (and Ashley of course ;-) )... I love seeing Delilah & Landon together. Shawn is such an entertainer too... he was putting these pop beads in his mouth, going up to John & going "Ruff- ruff!!" John would take it from him & throw it and Shawn went & got it and brought it back! It was sooo cute!!

Peaches!!

Pears!!

Yesterday Delilah tried pears for the very first time. They were a hit! She ate the entire bowl I spooned out for her :-D

Today was another first in the long list of firsts I've been blogging about lately. We were at my parents' today and she pulled herself up on to her knees! I definitely think she'll be crawling ~very~ soon!!

Late afternoon/early evening Auntie Ashley, Uncle Jon, Shawn & Landon all came over to play. We were going to play outside & blow bubbles but the rain spoiled that plan. We still had fun playing inside though :-) At one point Shawn was playing with Delilah's gumball machine & John (my John) was sitting at the computer. I was saying something to him & he was pretending to ignore me (yes pretending- and I know that because I could see this stupid face he was making LoL). I said to John "Do you want slapped?" To which Shawn answered "No!!" What a silly boy!!

Tomorrow starts my 2nd work week- Delilah did soo well with John & I hope that this week will be just as good. I'm so thankful that Delilah is able to be home with John- even though the part where he doesn't have a job stinks :-\ He's applied to a few places so please keep your fingers crossed that we hear something about an interview soon.

Yesterday Auntie Ashley came over with the boys for some outside frolicking fun. John & Shawn blew bubbles while Delilah & Landon made eyes at each other :-D

Mmm, pears!!

Gum balls & licorice

So we made it through the first week of my going back to work... it wasn't too bad... I did well coping (better than I thought I would) and Delilah did very well for daddy. It also helps that I get to come home for lunch & see her. While I'm surviving at work I'm still waiting for the day that John gets that awesome job where I can stay home with her. I just pray that day will come soon!

So these next parts are kind of random... I tried to keep it to what happened today & then work my way back. This time I ~do~ have pics to share too!!

Today was another great first.... Delilah said "Dada"!! It was mixed in with a few other things but it was a definite "Dada" :-D

At lunch today John gave me some yummy licorice. While eating it, Delilah grabbed a hold of it (I was holding her while eating it). She played with it a little- her hands an iron grip around it- before gumming it. She had her first taste of licorice today & she really seemed to enjoy it (obviously I did not let her really eat it but I did let her gum it a little & we got pictures- it was too cute not to!).

Yesterday I was playing with Delilah & her fisher-price gum ball machine. You pull the lever & out comes a "gum"ball that has an object inside it (usually an animal, but there's also a diamond ring, a lollipop, etc.). I took Delilah's hand & put it on the lever where she held it there until it fell off releasing the lever & a "gum"ball. Suddenly she's putting her hand on the lever herself & pulling it!! I was soo proud of her :-D She figured it out alll for herself.

Today- both for John & for myself- Delilah crawled!! Well.... more like she scooted. She was on the floor on her tummy & she started scooting herself backwards LoL

The other day I was drinking some water when Delilah reached for the bottle. I held it up to her lips & she actually drank some. She definitely likes water. She even got upset when I took the bottle away from her. Why won't she take a baby bottle when she takes a water bottle LoL

It just amazes me how smart she is & how fast she catches on to things. I know that when I would think of babies I would just think of them as these little creatures who just were. You don't realize how smart they are, how much they understand & how truly their own little person they can be. My heart just swells with pride when I see the milestones she reaches & all her accomplishments.

There are so many videos I want to share but they take sooo long to upload to the blog :-( So I won't be posting them. If you want to see them let me know & I can e-mail them to you because they are sooo cute!

"I can do it myself Dad!"
